About the position

IXL Learning, a leader in personalized learning products, is seeking an enthusiastic and driven Educational Sales Consultant to join our Inside Sales team in San Mateo, CA. This full-time position is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about education technology. As part of our team, you will play a crucial role in expanding our global customer base by conducting outbound calls and qualifying inbound sales leads. Your primary responsibility will be to effectively communicate IXL's value proposition to potential users and understand their specific needs to facilitate the sales process. In this role, you will ensure the timely processing of leads and provide support for various sales campaigns. Clear communication with the sales team regarding the progress of these campaigns is essential. You will also be tasked with identifying growth opportunities that align with our sales objectives, ensuring that we meet our growth targets. Additionally, you will conduct virtual product demonstrations of our web applications, utilizing screen share technology to showcase the features and benefits of our products to prospective clients. The ideal candidate will possess a BA/BS degree and have prior inside sales experience, preferably in the edtech or software industry. A high level of self-motivation, energy, and a drive to succeed are critical for this position. You should have a proven ability to communicate effectively, present ideas convincingly, and influence potential clients. Your experience in delivering client-focused solutions based on customer needs will be invaluable as you manage multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills, along with strong verbal and written communication abilities, are essential for success in this role. Familiarity with web applications and experience with Salesforce.com are additional assets that will enhance your candidacy.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct cold outbound calls and qualify inbound sales leads to communicate IXL's value proposition to new global users.
  • Ensure the timely processing of leads and assist with and support sales campaigns.
  • Communicate clearly the progress of campaigns to the sales team.
  • Identify growth opportunities for the sales teams to ensure growth attainment.
  • Conduct web application product demonstrations virtually using screen share technology.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree
  • Inside sales experience, preferably within the edtech or software industry
  • A high level of self-motivation, energy and drive to succeed
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively
  • Experience in delivering client-focused solutions based on customer needs
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time while paying strict attention to detail
  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Excellent verbal (telephone) and written communications skills
  • Understanding of web applications
  • Ability to accommodate various global time zones is a plus
  • Salesforce.com experience is a plus.
