We are looking for an EEG tech who is willing to work with both pediatric and adult patients. We are open to a new grad, but 1 year + of experience would be preferred. The location of their EEG office is on the 2nd floor of the children's tower in the pediatric radiology suite; however, they are expected to travel around the whole hospital to scan patients on any floor an EEG is ordered on. On weekday mornings we also scan up to 3 outpatients, typically children. Responsibilities

  • Performs prescribed standard and complex electroencephalographic procedures in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Analyzes, identifies and documents procedures as outlined by departmental policies and procedures to maximize patient outcome.
  • Ensures an accurate and readable recording using deductive reasoning to troubleshoot minor problems and make adjustments as needed during the procedure.
  • Collects and/or reviews pertinent medical, historical, and medication information in order to perform the appropriate study prescribed by the physician.
  • Assists in nerve conduction velocity procedures, where applicable in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Assists with activities to improve department processes, facilitate testing and maintain quality to achieve optimal patient results.
  • Assists in scheduling of patients, charge entry and maintains equipment as outlined by department policies and procedures.
  • Independently performs prescribed routine and complex electroencephalographic and evoked potentials procedures to patients.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
  • This position requires three years of experience.
  • Requires Registration in Electroencephalography with the American Board of Registered Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists (ABRET).
  • Must demonstrate effective communication skills, human relations skills, advanced mathematical skills, analyze data and solve problems.
