About the position

The EEO Investigator at Pittsburgh Regional Transit is responsible for investigating and responding to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) complaints, ensuring compliance with civil rights programs and regulations. The role involves preparing reports of findings, educating employees on EEO regulations, and providing solutions to EEO issues in alignment with the organization's policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and respond to internal and external EEO complaints.
  • Prepare reports of findings and recommendations for resolution and corrective action.
  • Educate employees on EEO regulations and initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with Civil Rights programs, laws, and regulations including EEO/Affirmative Action, ADA, Title VI, Title VII, and the Age Discrimination Act.
  • Monitor human resources actions to ensure consistency and non-discrimination.
  • Receive and investigate complaints of discrimination or civil rights violations.
  • Gather evidence and record all complaints of potential violations.
  • Recommend appropriate actions or responses to complaints.
  • Negotiate reconciliation with complainants and management staff.
  • Consult with General Counsel on responses to complaints investigated by state or federal agencies.
  • Utilize PeopleSoft HRMS to maintain EEO compliance statistics and reports.
  • Prepare quarterly updates of utilization analysis for senior management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Humanities, or a directly related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in investigative procedures and report preparation.
  • Thorough knowledge of federal and state EEO regulations.
  • Professional and effective communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability in the use of Windows and Microsoft Word.
  • Valid PA driver's license.

  • Demonstrated ability in the use of Microsoft Excel.
