About The Position

The EHS Manager at NBCUniversal will play a crucial role in supporting the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) program implementation, particularly within the Universal City Studios group. This position focuses on ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, providing training, and serving as a technical advisor to various departments. The EHS Manager will be responsible for managing health and safety programs, conducting inspections, and fostering a culture of safety across the organization.

Requirements

  • Completed bachelor degree in EHS, engineering, chemistry, biology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of EHS experience.
  • Five years of professional experience in leading health and safety programs and projects.
  • Understanding of the legislative structure of OSHA and Cal/OSHA.
  • Computer savvy, comfortable working with enterprise software and Microsoft Suite.
  • Excellent professional verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Completed master's degree in EHS.
  • Certified Safety Professional or Certified Industrial Hygienist.
  • Experience with Gensuite.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in media, entertainment, or film.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and abate health and safety hazards.
  • Build strong relationships and interact with various departments to address health and safety concerns and ensure compliance with Cal/OSHA requirements.
  • Serve as a technical advisor and problem solver for departmental teams.
  • Manage injury and illness investigations and associated record keeping.
  • Oversee various health and safety programs and the Inspections Program.
  • Conduct inspections as required and oversee monthly Safety Team meetings.
  • Direct incident investigations and perform root cause analyses.
  • Perform safety risk assessments of selected operations.
  • Advise, direct, and instruct personnel on correct implementation of technical EHS requirements.
  • Perform audits of high-risk activities.
  • Develop and analyze weekly and monthly metrics.
  • Manage the Contractor Safety Program.
  • Participate in Safety Team meetings, developing content and presenting.
  • Interact with government agencies including Cal/OSHA, FAA, DHS, and others.
  • Respond to Safety Hotline calls and emergencies during work and off hours.
  • Document work in EHS information management system - Gensuite.
  • Conduct health and safety program audits.
