About The Position

The EHS Technician I position at Fincantieri Marinette Marine is responsible for monitoring, training, and enforcing Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures. This role involves coordinating compliance activities and developing training programs to ensure adherence to EHS standards. The technician will conduct safety inspections, accident investigations, and support management in achieving training objectives, all while maintaining a professional and ethical work environment.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of EHS policies and procedures.
  • Experience in conducting safety training and inspections.
  • Ability to prepare reports and documentation for compliance purposes.
  • Familiarity with DOT Drug Testing and Breath Alcohol Testing procedures.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to provide first aid and CPR certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a shipyard or manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety standards.
  • Certification in EHS-related fields.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and enforce EHS policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate safety inspections and maintain appropriate documentation.
  • Conduct safety orientation presentations for new employees and contractors.
  • Investigate accidents and conduct monthly safety compliance training.
  • Support management in training and development objectives.
  • Perform environmental monitoring and inspections.
  • Coordinate Job Safety Analyses and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Prepare EHS reports for the Department of Labor and Workers Compensation.
  • Conduct DOT Drug Testing and Breath Alcohol Testing.
  • Train management personnel in safety observation programs.
  • Provide first aid and become CPR qualified.
  • Design, schedule, and maintain employee occupational health and safety training files.
  • Utilize Learning Management Software for training consistency.
  • Track monthly OSHA rates and generate reports.
  • Analyze and recommend measures to protect workers from hazardous conditions.
  • Document incidents to identify causes and preventive measures.
