About the position

The Electric Power Sales Representative at N C Machinery Co. is responsible for direct sales of emergency and prime power solutions, focusing on building customer relationships and providing expert guidance on product applications. This role involves frequent in-person sales calls, developing sales quotations, and collaborating with various teams to ensure customer satisfaction and successful project execution.

Responsibilities

  • Execute a strong sales process with frequent in-person customer engagement.
  • Develop a working knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment and power generation systems.
  • Configure and quote custom emergency and prime power solutions, including labor and logistics components.
  • Research plan rooms to obtain specifications and active projects for standby power market.
  • Review site plans, electrical drawings, and project specifications to determine the best product solution.
  • Develop customer quotes based on specification documents using Customer Solutions Quoter (CSQ).
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
  • Attend trade shows, conferences, factory training, and customer events.
  • Maintain a high degree of knowledge around product offerings, industry trends, and applicable regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred, or related electrical industry experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business and technical documents.
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational, time management, and negotiating skills.
  • Articulate and effective communicator, both verbal and written.
  • Adept at using various applications including database, spreadsheet, and CRM software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the electrical industry or related fields.
  • Familiarity with Caterpillar products and competitors.
