About the position

This position is responsible for developing engineered electrical wiring diagrams in AutoCAD, transforming roughly designed concepts from engineers into detailed working documents. The role focuses on industrial power and control system electrical engineering, requiring a high level of attention to detail and understanding of relevant products and design practices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and modify detailed design of industrial control systems including panel design and schematics.
  • Create DC power distribution, protection, and grounding drawings for control panel components.
  • Generate architecture drawings based on product and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal resources, customers, and engineering firms to generate specifications.
  • Modify drawings as directed by the lead engineer or panel fabrication shop manager using AutoCAD.
  • Utilize P&ID, process flows, specifications, and other documentation for control system design.
  • Ensure control panel designs comply with industry standards (i.e. UL508A).
  • Maintain a library of commonly used panel components to streamline future designs.
  • Conduct technical reviews of control panel designs and manage revisions throughout the project cycle.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and completion of a 2-year trade school or union program.
  • 3 years of experience in panel design.
  • 5 years of experience in drawing development using AutoCAD.

Nice-to-haves

  • Undergraduate degree in Electronic or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) hardware design.
  • Experience with Distributed Control System (DCS) hardware design.
