About the position

The Electrical Design Engineer at Siemens Energy will focus on the electrical design of Power Transformers, ensuring compliance with design rules, quality standards, and project timelines. This role involves performing detailed electrical calculations, preparing design documents, and collaborating with various departments to meet customer specifications and enhance product offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Electrical Calculations for Power transformers and prepare Electrical design documents.
  • Design the parameters & dimensions of the active part of the transformer to meet customer specifications.
  • Understand customer specifications and project requirements, preparing design review documents and technical reports.
  • Collaborate with other departments on technical topics related to electrical design.
  • Prepare Technical Specifications for ordering components and accessories.
  • Estimate quantities for offers/tenders and prepare user documentation for offers.
  • Collaborate with other Siemens Energy transformer factories for product enhancements.
  • Effectively communicate among multi-functional teams and participate in technical forums.
  • Support the development of global design rules and R&D efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering.
  • Five or more years of working experience as a design engineer in Power Transformers.
  • Strong conceptual knowledge and working experience of calculations and designing of transformers.
  • Familiar with American & international standards related to transformers.
  • Familiar with 2D CAD software, experience in 2D/3D Electro-magnetic simulation is an advantage.
  • Detailed knowledge of materials and components used in transformers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
  • Self-motivated to produce high-quality results with limited supervision.
  • Good experience working with Global Engineering teams in project execution.
  • Effective coordination with manufacturing, suppliers, and customers.

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred experience with SAP.
  • Experience in 2D/3D Electrostatic analysis.
