About the position

The Electrical Engineer 2 - Facility Systems at United Launch Alliance (ULA) is responsible for supporting the operational ground electrical and power systems at all ULA launch sites. This role involves coordinating facility electrical support for launch operations, maintaining electromechanical systems, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. The engineer will work in a team-oriented environment focused on innovation and excellence in the aerospace industry.

Responsibilities

  • Support operational ground electrical/power systems at ULA launch sites.
  • Coordinate facility electrical support of launch operations and scheduling.
  • Collaborate with technical staff and contractors on electromechanical systems design and maintenance.
  • Manage Base High Voltage supply infrastructure for launch operations.
  • Provide launch console support during major operations and testing.
  • Schedule and execute facility electrical validations and pre-launch checkouts.
  • Develop and revise operational test procedures and maintenance documentation for electromechanical systems.
  • Create facility electrical mission unique capabilities.
  • Operate and maintain hazardous commodity detection and monitoring systems.
  • Design, operate, and maintain Programmable Logic Controllers for launch facilities.
  • Implement corrective actions and coordinate with cross-functional groups for strategic improvements.
  • Apply engineering knowledge to project completion, including cost and schedule management.
  • Develop technical proposals and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Support maintenance and improvement projects in coordination with the sustaining Engineering group.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related work experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred with experience in Electrical and/or Power Engineering.
  • Functional application of NEC/NFPA 70 and 72.
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 70E.
  • Demonstrated communication, writing, and oral skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products like Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional experience with large, complex electromechanical systems in an industrial process.
  • Training and certification in NEC 70 and 70E.
