About the position

The Electrical Engineer Intern/Co-op position at LyondellBasell Advanced Polymers Inc. is designed for students pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. This internship will commence in the Summer of 2025, providing students with hands-on experience in a professional environment. Interns will work on real-world projects, receive mentorship from experienced professionals, and have the opportunity to be considered for future assignments based on performance evaluations. The role involves developing and optimizing control schemes, troubleshooting systems, and collaborating with technicians.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot control schemes that drive processes.
• Create and refine process models for predictive control systems.
• Troubleshoot, engineer, and improve process measurement instrumentation, control systems, safety systems, and analyzers.
• Provide daily technical support for instrumentation and electrical (I&E) or control systems.
• Collaborate with electrical technicians to troubleshoot problems and perform equipment repairs.
• Continuously evaluate the electrical system and plan for expansion and reliability improvements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent degree from an accredited university.
• Overall GPA of 3.0 or greater.
• Candidates must be at least 18 years of age.
• Candidates must pass drug screen and background check.
• Legal authorization to work in the USA.
