About the position

The Electrical Engineer position at Serco North America involves supporting the design and development of the COLUMBIA Integrated Power System for the U.S. Navy's submarine program. This role requires technical expertise in electrical systems and collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of power generation and distribution systems for advanced military submarines.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design and development of the COLUMBIA Integrated Power System electrical system.
  • Oversee the generation and distribution of all electrical power and controlling systems for electrical components.
  • Collaborate with Naval Reactors, PMS 397, the shipbuilder, and component vendors to maintain high standards.
  • Provide support to the Compatibility Test Facility in Philadelphia, PA for pre-production component testing.

Requirements

  • Current or active Secret clearance is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering, or related field (Physics, for example).
  • Minimum of two years' experience in the design, maintenance, operation, and issue resolution of complex electrical systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Naval Nuclear Propulsion experience at a Prototype, Nuclear shipyard, or shipboard.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
