About the position

The Senior Electrical Engineer will work on multidisciplinary project teams, providing electrical engineering expertise and integrating process, mechanical, and control requirements into comprehensive electrical systems. The role involves designing and analyzing power and control systems, preparing plans and specifications, writing reports, and developing cost estimations for various industrial facilities. Responsibilities also include project management, mentoring junior staff, and participating in business development activities, with potential short-term out-of-town assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Work on multidisciplinary project teams providing electrical engineering expertise.
  • Integrate process, mechanical, and control requirements into comprehensive electrical systems.
  • Design and analyze power and control systems from the ground up.
  • Prepare plans and specifications, write reports, and develop cost estimations.
  • Manage projects and provide technical leadership and team management.
  • Coach and mentor less-experienced staff.
  • Participate in business development activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with a focus on power or control systems.
  • At least 10 years of related experience in a design capacity at a consulting engineering or industrial organization.
  • Knowledge of industrial manufacturing processes such as power plants, petroleum refining, mining, or chemical production facilities.
  • Working knowledge of applicable codes, standards, laws, and regulations.
  • Computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a high-energy environment.
  • Flexible working style and willingness to modify schedule to meet deadlines.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification or ability to obtain within one year.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
