About the position

The Electrical Engineer position in the Sustaining Engineering group at Leonardo DRS involves working with a diverse team to design, develop, and analyze various electronic systems. This role is crucial for ensuring the functionality and reliability of products for the U.S. Navy and other clients, providing opportunities for professional growth and engagement in innovative projects.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, modify, and analyze various electronics systems including Hardware, Power Engineering, and Integrated Circuit Engineering.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions in existing products or systems and make necessary modifications.
  • Compile and evaluate design and test data, analyzing and recommending design approaches.
  • Lead a group of engineers on technical activities, ensuring completion on time and within budget.
  • Document and support testing of products, systems, or subsystems.
  • Review customer specifications and develop designs that support them, considering cost as a key variable.
  • Provide budget, cost, and schedule input for design assignments.
  • Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems, and services.
  • Drive program design to meet cost and manufacturability requirements.
  • Develop prototypes to mitigate key development risks.
  • Communicate effectively with company personnel and customers as required.
  • Participate in the preparation of proposals.
  • Provide technical knowledge and assistance to other engineers and support personnel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering.
  • Prior experience diagnosing and resolving issues related to circuit card assemblies (CCAs).
  • Fluency in technologies and application domain relevant to the role.
  • Ability to lead a technical group independently.
  • Must be a US citizen and meet DRS security standards.
