About the position

The Electrical Engineer at BSI will be responsible for designing power distribution systems across various industries, ensuring compliance with codes and safety standards. This role involves collaborating with a full-service team to deliver high-quality integrated design packages, managing projects from greenfield designs to retrofits, and interfacing with clients to meet their needs.

Responsibilities

  • Execute electrical engineering design scope for single and multi-discipline projects while ensuring compliance with all applicable codes and standards.
  • Perform the Lead role as assigned.
  • Ensure quality and technical accuracy of project deliverables including calculations and design effort.
  • Meet engineering schedule and budget objectives on assigned projects.
  • Self-perform design of low voltage (600 and below) industrial power distribution systems.
  • Assist in the design of medium voltage (MV) power distribution systems, including selection and specification of MV equipment.
  • Assist in short circuit/arc flash/coordination and load studies.
  • Self-perform specification and design modification of MCCs, including single lines and layout of MCCs.
  • Self-perform design of cable tray and conduit systems and specification of low voltage distribution equipment.
  • Participate in construction support, startup, and commissioning efforts.
  • Interface with clients on a regular basis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering, or related discipline, required.
  • 5+ years of electrical design experience.
  • Exposed to EasyPower and or SKM software.
  • Familiar with AutoCAD and Revit software.
  • Experience with load studies required.
  • Familiarity with the National Electrical Code.
  • Industrial power distribution experience required.
  • Ability to specify power distribution equipment.
  • Field exposure to various manufacturing, industrial, commercial, or institutional environments.
