About The Position

As a CO+I Electrical Engineer at Microsoft, you will play a crucial role in delivering core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's cloud services. This position involves designing, testing, and implementing electrical engineering solutions that support a wide range of online services, including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform. Requirements

  • 4+ years of technical engineering experience OR a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop knowledge of industry trends and competitors' products.
  • Consult with other engineers to understand and apply advanced concepts.
  • Assist in creating and executing designs and verification plans for electrical engineering aspects of products.
  • Participate in creating intellectual property and may file patents.
  • Implement known solutions to common technical challenges with guidance.
  • Read and interpret device specification sheets for hardware features.
  • Develop design documentation including drawings and specifications with guidance.
  • Review technical sheets for available parts and select appropriate components.
  • Ensure test requirements are included in documentation for products.
  • Determine appropriate test equipment for measuring product features.
  • Write design verification test cases and develop test plans.
  • Assist in developing automated testing solutions and conduct automated testing.
  • Gather data for external testing supplier selection options.
  • Assist in setting up and breaking down testing environments with guidance.
  • Participate in developing dashboards for testing and quality metrics.
  • Analyze data to identify common problems affecting product design changes.
  • Assist in developing basic test fixtures for validation of new features.
  • Follow project implementation schedules and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Research new tools and technologies for project implementation.
  • Communicate project progress and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Document essential details about materials and components for devices.
