About the position

The Electrical Project Engineer will be responsible for leading engineering design processes within the Energy & Utilities market group. This role involves developing innovative engineering solutions, collaborating with clients and project partners, and ensuring the quality of project deliverables. The engineer will also engage in mentoring, adapt to changing project needs, and oversee the work of engineers and designers to meet client demands and project deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the overall engineering design process within a specific discipline for projects.
  • Collaborate with clients and project partners to ensure project success.
  • Ensure the production and quality of project deliverables within the discipline.
  • Share lessons learned and suggest continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify and resolve interpersonal or project-related internal issues.
  • Adapt to changing needs and priorities, raising staffing, budget, and quality issues as necessary.
  • Delegate and balance work for Engineers and Designers to meet client demands and deadlines.
  • Mentor employees through project work and provide oversight on engineering principles.
  • Prepare meeting notes, design specifications, and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs).
  • Travel to job sites for field verification and surveys.
  • Advance discipline practices, processes, and tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering.
  • Fundamental knowledge of building systems across Electrical, Mechanical, Piping, and Building Automation disciplines.
  • Advanced knowledge of power distribution systems including specification of medium voltage (15kV - 69kV+) equipment.
  • Experience with power systems fault and coordination studies, power system protection schemes, and protective relays.
  • Understanding of applicable design codes, standards, and specification requirements.
  • Proficient in engineering calculation/selection software such as SKM or ETAP.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively with clients and project partners.
  • Professional Engineering license (PE) in one or more states with capability for reciprocity.
