About the position

Reclamation is seeking a career professional looking for an opportunity to capitalize on their expertise as a Electrical Engineer. You can make a difference in the West by assisting in meeting increasing water demands while protecting the environment. The position is located in Folsom, California.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a principal designer in the preparation of specifications to meet project needs concerning electrical projects.
  • Obtains information from jobsites for comparing interfaces with other equipment.
  • Reviews contractor's submitted work for technical compliance with specification requirements.
  • Coordinates with related work in other organizational units or outside agencies.
  • Participates in work site inspections to ascertain conditions, identify problems related to assigned work, and establish workable solutions.
  • Reviews designs and cost estimates related to regional programs or facilities prepared by consultants or other agencies for acceptability, conformance to appropriate standards, policies, legal requirements, and cost effectiveness.
  • Prepares schedules for design processes and estimates schedules for the project construction phase.
  • Performs cost estimates for all project phases to include: feasibility, concept, design, procurement, and construction.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
  • Must be suitable for federal employment, determined by a background investigation.
  • Must submit a resume and supporting documentation.
  • Must submit eligibility documents for veterans consideration.
  • Must meet any minimum education and/or experience requirements.
  • Must submit transcript(s) to verify education requirements.
  • Must maintain a valid State Driver's License.
  • Must obtain a successful pre-employment physical examination.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional registration or licensure as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Evidence of having successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination.
  • Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences.
