Electrical Engineer

About the position

Anduril is seeking an Electrical Engineer for UAVs. Looking for a self-starter with experience in eVTOLs/EVs or the Aerospace industry who can apply these skills in power systems, motor drives and energy storage applications. This individual will be responsible for electrical design, test and integration, from concept to production, while ensuring alignment with strategic business goals. The engineer will also be involved in managing key vendor relationships, and ensuring performance and reliability in our cutting-edge technologies.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with mechanical engineers to optimize selection, design and integration of high power components, modules and distribution.
• Trade-off component and module selections against size, weight and power requirements.
• Collaborate with design team to achieve reliability goals at a system level in context of concepts of operation.

Requirements

• BS in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 1+ years of experience in electrical engineering with power electronics, motor drives, or energy storage systems.
• Capability to design, build & test high voltage, high power designs.
• Familiarity with power electronics, inverters, or 1 kW - 250 kW motors.
• Experience working in aerospace, EVs, or eVTOLs.
• Embedded software for control of inverters and/or other power electronics.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

• MS/PhD in relevant discipline with a focus in power electronics.
• Strong knowledge of motor control theory for surface and interior permanent magnet machines.
• Background in MIL-STD-461, 464, 810, DO-160 compliance.
• Understanding of DO-178B software requirements for aerospace applications.
• Experienced with Wide Bandgap Semiconductors.
• Familiarity with Altium Designer.
• Involved in EVTOL certification activities.
• Design-for-Reliability, including DFMEA.
• Design/test for EMI compatibility.
• Energy storage systems.
