About The Position

The Electrical Systems Analysis Engineer at General Motors is responsible for building and executing one-dimensional electrical sub-system and component models for various electrical components, including batteries, fuses, cables, and connectors. This role involves developing new electrical systems analysis, interpreting results for decision-makers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure design requirements are met and validated.

Requirements

• BS, MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
• 2+ years of Engineering experience
• Experience in Synopsys Saber Product or comparable Electrical Data Analysis tool products
• Experience in analysis of low and high voltage systems with electrified vehicles
• Excellent understanding and application of engineering theory and principles of operation for electrical mechanisms
• Engineering experience in design, analysis or testing of electrical components

Nice To Haves

• Experience with development and usage of CAE/CAD tools
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
• Black belt in performing DFSS analysis

Responsibilities

• Develop high and low voltage electrical systems models using tools like Saber, Matlab, Simulink and Simscape
• Perform electrical circuit analysis to deliver robust and reliable design solutions utilizing optimization and statistical methods
• Collaborate with Propulsion/Battery System integration engineers, Electrical Architects, and component hardware design teams
• Integrate higher fidelity models like battery cell electrochemistry and thermal/CFD into electrical system simulations
• Ensure on-time delivery of high-quality results
