About the position

Heidelberg Materials is seeking a qualified Electrician for the Nazareth Cement Plant in Nazareth, PA. This full-time position involves installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical and electronic systems in an industrial setting, contributing to the company's sustainable future.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical/electronic systems, components, and apparatus for machinery and equipment.
• Test and diagnose electrical instrumentation and control problems.
• Discuss operation variations with supervisors or other electrical and maintenance workers to diagnose problems or repair machines.
• Install power or instrumentation wiring and conduit for machinery and equipment.
• Replace or repair faulty electrical components of machinery, such as relays, motors, switches, and printed circuit boards.
• Rewire motors and troubleshoot process control issues for automated machinery using PC and PLC programming.
• Calibrate instrumentation using programming devices.
• Troubleshoot and repair variable speed drives, process analyzers, and measuring equipment.
• Assist with project research, including system dynamics and control loop algorithms, and contribute to system design for retrofitting and upgrading existing equipment.
• Plan layout of wiring and system installation within the facility.
• Read blueprints, schematic drawings, and manuals to determine work procedures and diagnose problems.
• Update prints to reflect field changes and maintain records and logs of preventive electrical maintenance activities.
• Maintain general cleanliness of work areas and tools, and participate in the training of apprentices and new employees.
• Follow plant and MSHA Safety Policies, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment.

Requirements

• Experience with 480- and 4160-volt motors and controls.
• Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• Certification as an Industrial Electrician or equivalent combination of education and training.
• System knowledge of HMI and PLC control systems.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and apply concepts of algebra and geometry in practical situations.
• Ability to work extended hours and irregular schedules.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
