Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots, analyzes, repairs, and documents failure of assigned products or test systems in support of production, generating all required information on cause and possible remedies.
  • Accurately collects and reports product information in required formats.
  • Performs detailed failure analysis on specific products or test systems and charts data.
  • Provides technical training on specific products and/or provides input and support on training programs.
  • Monitors defect data for trends and reports out of control situations.
  • May assist and coordinate test equipment builds and final system debug and checkout.
  • Assists in product transition plans between facilities concerning specific systems and processes.
  • May be responsible for basic component orders for system repairs, builds, and maintenance.
  • Performs other duties when required that are outside of normal job duties.

Requirements

  • Associates of Science degree in electronics or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and three years progressive experience in electronic/mechanical repair, technical production, and a testing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as professional journals, technical procedures, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, assembly and disassembly instructions, schematics, factory test procedures (FTP), ECN / PCO's, BOM's and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information to management and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to apply concepts of algebra, geometry, electronics theory, and associated applications.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical, diagram or schedule form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to operate a computer and use word processing, spreadsheet and database software.
  • Ability to use hand and soldering tools, production and test equipment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to read, write, and speak Spanish, Vietnamese, and/or Chinese.
  • Experience in contract manufacturing.
