About The Position

The Electronics Engineer position at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) involves leading and developing a research program focused on on-wafer integrated devices, circuits, and systems for microwave communications. Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• A bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program or equivalent education and experience.
• One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level, including leading research programs and precision on-wafer microwave instrumentation.
• Experience with microwave circuit theory and calibration algorithms.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with data analysis in a modern programming language.
• Experience designing, fabricating, simulating, measuring, and modeling microwave devices.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a research program in on-wafer integrated devices, circuits, and systems for microwave communications.
• Develop new concepts for improved measurements including algorithms, system design, hardware development, and data analysis.
• Present research results through presentations and journal articles to management, sponsors, and the scientific community.
• Mentor junior-level scientists and serve as a resource for them.
• Provide consultation in technology and precision measurements to researchers and sponsors.
• Perform tests and measurements of on-wafer calibration structures and pioneer on-wafer traceability.
