About The Position

The Electronics Technician I position at Medtronic involves working within the Surgical Robotics program to support the production of electronic hardware for robotic systems. This role focuses on prototype builds, testing, troubleshooting, and providing technical support under supervision, contributing to the enhancement of robotic-assisted surgery technologies.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of a specialized or technical field.
  • Ability to read and understand schematics, instructions, and drawings.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in the use of electronic equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters.
  • Ability to work effectively in teams and communicate cooperatively with supervisors and colleagues.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering or Technical Certification in Electronics.
  • Experience in medical device product development and regulatory processes.
  • Previous experience with robotics and IPC Certifications.
  • Knowledge of disassembly and reassembly of systems and test benches.
  • Experience with Linux and Windows.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct prototype builds, testing, and troubleshooting in support of Released Project Management activities.
  • Set up and operate test equipment, documenting results and analyzing systems per detailed procedures.
  • Gather and maintain data, drawings, and repair or service instruments and equipment.
  • Assist with root cause analysis, including data analysis and identifying trends for systems and components.
  • Provide technical troubleshooting skills to identify and propose solutions that support business objectives.
  • Maintain lab stock of electronic and mechanical components and lab supplies.
  • Assist in repairing/refurbishing prototypes during testing and building test equipment as needed.
  • Follow inspection procedures and operate automated test equipment.
