About the position

The Beta Academy Teacher is dedicated to establishing a world-class classroom environment that fosters a culture of joyful rigor. The mission is to develop scholars and leaders who can contribute positively at community, national, and international levels. The teacher will be responsible for meeting various academic goals across different grade levels, ensuring that a significant percentage of scholars achieve proficiency and mastery on benchmarks and state tests. The role also emphasizes the importance of maintaining high attendance rates and fostering a positive school culture through various recognition and reward systems. In addition to academic responsibilities, the teacher will implement specific instructional methods tailored to different grade spans, including Cooperative Learning, Socratic Method, and hands-on projects. The teacher is expected to create engaging and dynamic learning experiences that challenge scholars academically, intellectually, and personally. This includes providing opportunities for experiential learning and fostering a love of learning among students. The teacher will also be responsible for monitoring and assessing scholars' daily work to ensure excellence and mastery of instructional goals. The role requires strong organizational and planning skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues. The teacher must demonstrate professionalism in all interactions and maintain a positive and supportive classroom environment. This position is 100% onsite and requires participation in various school activities, including dance productions and parent communication events. The teacher will also be expected to take ownership of classroom management and uphold the school's standards of excellence in all aspects of their work.

Responsibilities

  • Establish a world-class classroom environment through joyful rigor.
  • Meet academic goals for scholars across K-12 grades.
  • Implement non-negotiable instructional methods for different grade spans.
  • Foster a love of learning and celebrate scholar successes.
  • Monitor and assess scholars' daily work for excellence and mastery.
  • Encourage class attendance and maintain a 97% average daily attendance.
  • Implement classroom rules and procedures, including positive reinforcement and consequences.
  • Demonstrate professionalism in attendance and communication with parents and staff.
  • Participate in school events and productions throughout the academic year.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in teaching English Language Arts (ELA) preferred.
  • Familiarity with technology and software programs used in education.
