About the position

The Eligibility and Benefits Coordinator at Chicago ENT is responsible for enhancing patient customer service and supporting the management team. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a medical clinic or hospital setting. The coordinator will assist patients with financial inquiries, manage payment plans, and ensure accurate financial records are maintained.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in calculating co-pays and deductibles for collection at the time of service.
• Collaborate with the billing department to post payments and provide patients with their current balances.
• Enroll and monitor patient payment plans, following up on rejected payments to ensure they are up to date.
• Process collection worksheets to ensure all patients sent to collections have provider approval.
• Present financial plans to patients struggling to pay their bills.
• Run daily schedule reports for eligibility and advise patients with large balances.
• Provide recommendations for CT add-on procedures.
• Assist Front Desk and Schedulers with phone duties as needed.
• Reconcile deposits to patient account activity in eClinical Works and make bank deposits.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university preferred.
• Two to three years of related experience required.
• Familiarity with CPT and ICD Codes/Coding.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and manage multiple tasks.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and eClinicalWorks.
