As a member of the Amazon Robotics Firmware team, you will work as part of a cross functional team to shape the next generation of robotic systems used throughout Amazon's order fulfillment network. You will work closely with not only other embedded software engineers but also our team of electrical, mechanical and safety engineers to deliver a lasting impact to millions of customers worldwide. We develop safety critical, real time systems and hold ourselves to a high standard to ensure that everyone that interacts with our systems has the safest and most efficient experience as possible while simultaneously ensuring that devices have the reliability to run 24x7 without missing a beat.

Requirements

  • BS/MS in computer science, computer engineering or related discipline
  • High level of proficiency with programming in C
  • 1+ years of software development engineering experience developing embedded applications. This should include using source control control systems.
  • Experience developing and debugging software using a Linux environment
  • Demonstrable skills in developing deterministic, testable code and supporting a test-driven architecture.
  • Must be comfortable working with and debugging existing codebases, and creating well-tested surgical fixes.
  • Proficient oral and written communications skills and collaborates well with others in a team environment

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with at least one RTOS and delivering products in a tightly resource constrained environment
  • Experience working with embedded test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and in-circuit emulators
  • Experience working with embedded communications protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART and CAN-bus.
  • Experience programming in C++ and/or Python
