About the position

The Videographer/Editor at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) is responsible for creating and editing engaging video content that enhances the VCU brand and communicates impactful stories. This role requires a blend of creativity and technical expertise, focusing on visual storytelling that resonates with diverse audiences. The position collaborates with various departments to produce high-quality videos for brand marketing, social media, and other media channels, while ensuring alignment with VCU's visual identity and messaging.

Responsibilities

• Create and edit captivating video content that embodies the VCU brand.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop video concepts and strategies.
• Manage multiple video projects with attention to detail and deadlines.
• Ensure all video assets align with VCU's visual aesthetic and tone of voice.
• Facilitate the gathering and maintenance of digital assets and footage.
• Work with outside vendors and agencies for larger projects.
• Script writing and executing videos from concept to completion.
• Stay updated on current video techniques and trends to inform storytelling.

Requirements

• Seven+ years of experience in producing, shooting, and editing videos for brand marketing and social media.
• Proficient in video editing software including Premier, Photoshop, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Demonstrated knowledge of various camera types and video production techniques.
• Strong understanding of brand marketing and social media content.
• Excellent digital media file management skills.
• Ability to prioritize projects autonomously and efficiently.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent training and experience.
• Experience in producing high-end broadcast material.
• Familiarity with DiVinci Resolve software.
