About The Position

The ED Technician plays a crucial role in providing direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed care team member. This part-time position requires working two 12-hour shifts per week, starting at 7 AM and ending at 7 PM, including weekends. The technician is responsible for assisting patients with personal hygiene, recording vital information, and maintaining a clean patient environment, all while ensuring dignity and respect for each patient.

Requirements

• Current Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification required OR successful completion of first year of a Nursing program and validation of a clinical rotation consistent with level of education OR Current Certified Medical Assistant OR Verified EMT Certification
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Basic Life Support (must be obtained within three months of hire)

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in personal hygiene activities such as bathing, dental and oral care, hair, and nail care.
• Assist patients with bowel and bladder functions while maintaining dignity.
• Record patient intake and output (I & O).
• Collect, label, and transport specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Change and transport soiled and contaminated linens according to procedure.
• Maintain clean and tidy patient room/environment.
• Assist patients with activity, turning, and repositioning as indicated by provider order and in collaboration with the nurse.
• Communicate pertinent patient information/findings to the patient's nurse.
• Set priorities for the care of multiple patients.
