About the position

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) at Ontario Medical Center is responsible for providing professional nursing care in a fast-paced environment. This part-time, temporary position requires the RN to lead the healthcare team, ensuring high standards of care and effective communication with patients and their families. The role involves developing individualized care plans, monitoring patient progress, and ensuring safety and comfort during treatment. The RN will work night shifts and is expected to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process in accordance with established standards of care, policies, and procedures.
  • Serve as a leader of the healthcare team, delegating tasks appropriately and demonstrating accountability.
  • Develop and contribute to individualized plans of care, ensuring they reflect assessment and evaluation outcomes.
  • Monitor patient progress and revise care plans based on ongoing evaluations.
  • Ensure patient safety and optimal pain control, addressing patient concerns and education needs.
  • Practice customer service standards, ensuring a clean and functional work environment.
  • Act as a resource and mentor to new employees and team members.
  • Organize work to minimize overtime and assist in systems improvement.

Requirements

  • Minimum one (1) year recent full-time equivalent experience in Emergency Department.
  • Valid Registered Nurse License in California.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
