About The Position

The Emerging Store Manager at Walgreens is responsible for supervising customer service associates and managing the front end of the store. This role supports the Store Manager in overall store operations, ensuring effective customer service, operational efficiency, and team performance. The position involves leading a team, managing store activities in the absence of the Store Manager, and driving sales and profitability through effective merchandising and customer engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a solid academic record, all majors welcome, or a High School Diploma/GED with two years of supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, professional business ethics, self-motivation, and strong communication skills.
  • Completion of Store Manager training program (LEAP) or willingness to complete Walgreens Leadership Essentials training within 12 weeks of start date.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule including extended days, evenings, and weekends.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred).
  • Management experience for internal candidates, including supervising others.
  • Experience across both front-end and pharmacy for internal candidates.
  • Prior retail or food industry experience for external candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises customer service associates and designated hitters.
  • Manages front end of the store and makes recommendations on overall operations.
  • Supports Store Manager with overall store operations to achieve company deliverables.
  • Assumes responsibilities of all store activities in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Ensures proper merchandising and protection of store assets.
  • Improves store sales and profitability.
  • Engages customers and resolves complaints to ensure a positive experience.
  • Monitors customer service and provides coaching and training to team members.
  • Supervises daily store operations and assigns activities to team members.
  • Collaborates with external partners for community outreach opportunities.
  • Analyzes financial and performance data to create action plans for business deliverables.
  • Leads and trains team members, providing mentoring and coaching for career development.
  • Manages team member performance and discipline, including hiring decisions.
  • Completes special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
