General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) is seeking an EMI EMC Engineer to join our Electrical Engineering Department in Poway, CA. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the electromagnetic interference (EMI) and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of unmanned air vehicle systems. Under general supervision and with regular review, the engineer will be responsible for conducting EMI/EMC testing on various electrical and electronic equipment, ranging from module level to complete air vehicle systems. The role requires collaboration with other engineering departments to procure and develop necessary test support equipment, as well as performing bench and anechoic chamber testing. The EMI EMC Engineer will also be expected to travel to flight test facilities as needed to support aircraft testing. A significant part of the job involves generating documentation to support test qualifications in accordance with EMI/EMC standards, including MIL-STD-461 and RTCA DO-160. The engineer will analyze and troubleshoot EMC/EMI failures, providing support to the design team and ensuring adherence to best practices. Additionally, the engineer must observe all laws, regulations, and obligations while conducting business on behalf of the company, and is expected to work safely in accordance with established operating procedures. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
