About the position

This role is pivotal in delivering exceptional benefits solutions to our growing client base. The Account Coordinator will work closely with seasoned professionals in the insurance industry, gaining valuable insights and experience while contributing to the success of our clients. This position offers a unique opportunity to build a rewarding career in the insurance sector, particularly in the area of employee benefits, which is crucial for client retention and satisfaction. In this role, you will have high visibility to Senior Leadership, working alongside both Client Services and Agency Leadership who prioritize your learning and development. You will learn the intricacies of Employee Benefits and understand what it takes to effectively support the Sales and Service Teams within this line of business. The position is designed for those who are eager to learn and grow, with opportunities for upward movement within our client services teams. Your responsibilities will include maintaining a positive image with clients to support client retention, assisting in the creation of open enrollment guides, finalizing client presentations for new business and renewal meetings, and gathering essential information related to underwriting, data analytics, marketing, and HR services. You will also maintain relationships with carriers, coordinate meetings, and ensure that all necessary information is prepared for Requests for Proposals (RFPs). This role requires a proactive approach to learning and staying updated on industry trends, as well as the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Support client retention by maintaining a positive image with clients.
  • Assist with creating open enrollment guides and finalizing client presentations for new business and renewal meetings.
  • Gather information related to underwriting, data analytics, marketing, and HR service through internal departments and outside vendor partners.
  • Maintain relationships with carriers and initiate/coordinate meetings with carriers as needed.
  • Run or obtain reports from carrier systems.
  • Enter accurate client information into agency management system and export data as needed.
  • Obtain necessary information to prepare for RFP; distribute RFP to identified markets and ensure RFP deadlines are met by carriers.
  • Prepare all required client-facing proposals and documents for the Account Executive and assist in tracking data, changes, and client-specific information.
  • Actively engage in learning; study industry trends and seek out self-directed learning to increase industry knowledge.
  • Maintain carrier updates and bulletins in a shared document environment and assist in coordinating meetings with carriers as instructed by Account Executive.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Open to obtaining a Life and Health license with agency support after six months of employment.
  • Strong organization and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Employee Navigator experience preferred but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and conscientiousness.
  • Efficient prioritization and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated customer service focus.
  • Ability to quickly learn multiple software systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office or similar systems, including spreadsheets, email, word processing, and presentation software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the insurance industry is a plus.
  • Familiarity with employee benefits administration.
