About the position

The Employee Benefits Coordinator at Tippmann Group is a pivotal role responsible for managing and administering the company's employee benefits programs. This includes overseeing health insurance, retirement plans, disability and leave-of-absence benefits, and other related programs. The coordinator ensures compliance with federal and state regulations, providing essential support to employees regarding their benefits. Additionally, this position involves cross-training to provide backup support to the payroll team, ensuring a seamless operation within the HR department. In this role, the Employee Benefits Coordinator will manage the day-to-day operations of various group benefits programs, including group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, flexible spending plans, and retirement plans. The coordinator will also coordinate the annual open enrollment process, which includes employee communication and necessary system updates. Timely processing of benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations is crucial to maintaining the integrity of the benefits program. The coordinator will serve as the primary point of contact for employees with questions or issues regarding their benefits, educating them on available options and how to utilize them effectively. Resolving employee issues related to benefits, including claims and billing discrepancies, is a key responsibility. Compliance is another critical aspect of this role, as the coordinator must ensure adherence to regulations such as ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, and ACA, while also maintaining up-to-date knowledge of these regulations to adjust company policies as necessary. Additional duties include staying informed about industry trends and best practices in employee benefits, assisting in the onboarding process by explaining benefits to new hires, and providing backup support to the payroll team. Occasional travel may be required for Open Enrollment events, making flexibility and adaptability important traits for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of group benefits programs including health, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance.
  • Coordinate the annual open enrollment process, including employee communication and system updates.
  • Process benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations in a timely manner.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees with questions or issues regarding their benefits.
  • Educate employees on available benefits and how to utilize them effectively.
  • Resolve employee issues related to benefits, including claims and billing discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, and ACA.
  • Review form 5500's and maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulations to adjust company policies accordingly.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in employee benefits.
  • Assist in the onboarding process by explaining benefits to new hires.
  • Cross-train as back-up support to the payroll team.
  • Occasional travel may be required for Open Enrollment events.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in benefits administration.
  • Professional certifications (e.g. CEBS, SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR) are a plus.
  • High level of confidentiality.
  • Experience with Paycom software is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and benefits administration systems.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Analytical skills with attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves
