About the position

The Employee Relations Business Partner at Tokyo Electron Limited plays a crucial role in aligning human resources objectives with business goals. This position involves providing guidance on HR policies, managing employee relations issues, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure compliance and optimize processes. The role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to lead projects that enhance HR functions and employee engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with leadership, legal, and regional HR Business Partners to align HR objectives with business goals.
  • Communicate and provide guidance to ensure integrity of all human resources policies and procedures.
  • Provide counsel and coaching to management and employees on employee relations issues and performance management.
  • Document actions and progress related to employee relations.
  • Manage potential employee relations issues by leading intake sessions and conducting investigations as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the Information Security group on compliance and counseling issues related to misuse of company confidential information.
  • Facilitate formal learning activities and development sessions in alignment with organizational development.
  • Seek opportunities for process improvements and design new processes, including automation and task transfer to Workday.
  • Contribute as a project leader or team member on various HR continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Utilize data and analytics in executing major responsibilities.
  • Stay informed of professional HR trends and developments through workshops, publications, and networking.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in business-related field, human resources, or employment law (or equivalent work experience).
  • Minimum of 8 years of related work experience in employee relations.
  • Experience handling employee complaints and grievances, ensuring fair and timely resolutions.
  • Experience managing disciplinary processes and assisting management in implementing disciplinary actions.
  • Ability to develop and implement employee policies in collaboration with HR and management.
  • Compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, staying updated on labor regulations.
  • Strong business acumen and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills, including data use and problem-solving capabilities.
