About the position

The Iowa DOT is seeking an Employee Relations Partner to join our dynamic Human Resources team! Responsibilities

  • Coach leaders as they deal with both small and large employee issues.
  • Provide support, consultation, and resolution guidance for employees and leaders in the department.
  • Analyze workplace environment complaints, recommend appropriate resolutions, and conduct investigations.
  • Interpret policies, code, and laws and advise others on how to apply them.
  • Support the development of policies for employees.
  • Prepare presentations to provide training on the policies.
  • Teach leaders in both one-on-one and classroom settings about various topics related to employee relations.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Bachelor's degree.
  • A combination of a total of four years of education and full-time experience in technical or professional human resources work, where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university course work equals one year of full-time experience.
  • Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes three years of full-time work performing technical human resources work.
