About the position

The Employment Services Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of the My Choice Employment model, ensuring its day-to-day operations align with the principles of 'Employment First'. This role emphasizes person-centered planning and supports, utilizing a Customized Employment approach when appropriate. The manager will oversee the hiring, firing, and supervision of My Choice Employment Specialists and Job Coaches, providing necessary orientation and ongoing training as per agency policy. Additionally, the manager will coordinate service delivery across all My Choice Employment job sites and service locations, serving as the central point of entry for individuals referred for admission into these services. Ensuring that each new person served receives a comprehensive orientation to the service is crucial. The manager will also promote My Choice Employment and 'Employment First' principles to prospective clients, family members, referral sources, funders, employers, and community groups. Conducting annual customer satisfaction surveys and maintaining financial accountability for the department's budget are also key responsibilities. The manager will explore new funding alternatives, pursue grant opportunities, and conduct community-based assessments with individuals, which may include developing assessment plans, job site development, and writing final reports or employment profiles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide orientation and ongoing in-service training as required by agency policy.
  • Schedule work assignments and coordinate service delivery at all My Choice Employment job sites and service locations.
  • Serve as the central point of entry for individuals referred for and admitted into My Choice Employment services.
  • Ensure each new person served receives a full orientation to service.
  • Promote My Choice Employment and 'Employment First' to prospective clients, family members, referral sources, funders, employers, and civic groups.
  • Conduct annual customer satisfaction surveys.
  • Maintain financial accountability for the department's budget.
  • Explore new funding alternatives and implement creative methods of funding services.
  • Pursue grant opportunities to fund services and create opportunities for individuals.
  • Conduct community-based assessments with individuals, including developing assessment plans and writing final reports.

Requirements

  • BA or BS degree required (preferably in Rehabilitation counseling, Human Services, Sociology, Psychology, or Human Services).
  • Three years of supervisory experience.
  • Ability to teach, train, and motivate others to perform to the best of their ability.
  • Strong interpersonal/counseling skills to work with clients individually and in groups.
  • Excellent writing, editorial, and communication skills.
  • Skill in Behavior Management.
  • Clearance from all applicable background checks as required by service standards.
  • Possess a working knowledge of person-centered planning and person-centered supports.
  • Proficient with computers, specifically in Microsoft software and applications.
