About The Position

The Employment Specialist/Job Coach is responsible for job development and advocacy for individuals with disabilities seeking employment. This part-time position involves assisting referred individuals with job placement, follow-up, and training, as well as providing case management and social service referral assistance as needed. The role requires maintaining records and reporting as per policy and accreditation requirements, and having a working knowledge of relevant regulations and guidelines.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year's experience in a rehabilitation, non-profit facility, or comparable setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and general computer operation.
• Experience in marketing and public relations.
• Strong working knowledge of disability management and awareness.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record.
• Ability to communicate with tact and maintain confidentiality.
• Strong organizational, project planning, and management skills.
• Superior listening, verbal, and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Possess or ability to obtain a government secret clearance.
• Ability to gain unescorted access to Redstone Arsenal.

Responsibilities

• Job development and advocacy for individuals with disabilities.
• Assist referred individuals with job placement, follow-up, and training.
• Provide case management and social service referral assistance.
• Conduct employment readiness training (group and individual).
• Serve as a facility consultant regarding employment readiness.
• Provide job coaching assistance as directed by the referral source.
• Maintain reporting and records as outlined by policy and accreditation requirements.
• Participate in mission-based community activities.
