About the position

Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center - Opening in 2025! When open in early 2025, Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health will be the first new full-service hospital in Washington, DC in more than 20 years, integrating clinical care with existing community providers, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC's), The George Washington University Hospital, and our Urgent Care Center in Ward 8. This integrated delivery system will establish a robust network of care for all District residents, but more importantly, it will ensure residents of Wards 7 and 8 have access to high quality care in their community. This full-service hospital will include 136 beds (with the ability to expand to 184 beds), a verified trauma center, adult and pediatric emergency departments, maternal health and newborn delivery, an ambulatory pavilion for clinic visits and other outpatient services, a 500-car garage and a helipad for emergency transport. We are seeking an experienced Endoscopy Technician (PRN). Our ideal candidate readies rooms and gear for endoscopy work. The Endoscopy Technician will gather all needed tools, like endoscopes, light sources, and video monitors. The Endoscopy Technician will check to confirm that all equipment works right. They help doctors and nurses during procedures, handing them tools or samples. They watch patients to note any problems. After each procedure, the person cleans and sterilizes all gear. The incumbent will use special cleaners and machines to kill germs. This work follows strict rules to stop infections from spreading. The goal is to keep patients and staff safe.

Responsibilities

  • Ready rooms and gear for endoscopy work.
  • Gather all needed tools, like endoscopes, light sources, and video monitors.
  • Check to confirm that all equipment works correctly.
  • Assist doctors and nurses during procedures by handing them tools or samples.
  • Monitor patients to note any problems.
  • Clean and sterilize all gear after each procedure using special cleaners and machines.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalency.
  • Completion of Certified Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant Course, two years of nursing school, or other recent comparable education.
  • At least one year, preferably more, experience as an Endoscopy tech/assistant.
