About the position

The Associate Chemical Engineer position at Weaver is part of the Energy Compliance Services (ECS) team, which focuses on helping businesses navigate compliance with environmental regulations and identify growth opportunities in complex markets. The role involves preparing and reviewing technical documentation related to renewable fuel projects, conducting on-site inspections, and contributing to various client initiatives under the guidance of senior engineers. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and possesses strong interpersonal skills, working in a collaborative office environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an understanding of process technologies and regulations related to the ECS practice.
  • Prepare, review, and document technical aspects of client renewable fuel projects related to regulatory compliance.
  • Join senior colleagues for on-site inspections at client facilities.
  • Prepare mass and energy balance calculations.
  • Draft engineering review reports.
  • Contribute to multiple project types and client initiatives under the guidance of more experienced engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from an EAC/ABET accredited University.
  • Grade point average of 3.3 or higher.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a fluid working environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Light experience in the chemical engineering field through an internship or entry-level position.
  • Currently holds or is working towards an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Experience in performing mass and energy balance calculations.
  • Experience in interpreting and preparing block flow diagrams (BFDs), process flow diagrams (PFDs), and process descriptions.
  • Participation in professional and/or civic organizations to extend personal and professional brand.
