About the position

Molex is seeking an Automation Development Engineer to assist in the development and design of manufacturing equipment components, assembly stations, modules, and machines within the DataCom & Specialty Solutions division. This role involves collaboration with various teams to ensure robust solutions that meet customer requirements, while also leading design review meetings and ensuring manufacturing feasibility.

Responsibilities

• Support development teams to ensure new introductions meet customer requirements.
• Lead design review meetings and detail required design work.
• Responsible for 2D and 3D CAD designs of manufacturing equipment components, assembly stations, modules, and machines.
• Work with a Senior Engineer to support functionality and design of parts for larger assemblies.
• Support all projects in development, including product testing and updating technical documents.
• Collaborate with Project Engineers and manufacturing plant partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with 2D & 3D modeling using NX CAD software.

Nice-to-haves

• Managing design projects from front to end.
• Experience using MS Project, SAP, and Procurement systems.
• Knowledge of Automation, Product Design, and Injection molding principles.
• Technical knowledge of practices associated with fabrication, machining, grinding, wire EDM, and mold-making.
• Excellent organizational and decision-making skills.
