About the position

The Electronics Engineer (Production Test) plays a crucial role in overseeing testing and detection systems for factories and suppliers. This position is responsible for developing and implementing production test strategies, analyzing new products for appropriate manufacturing test processes, and leading the transition of new products from design to manufacturing. The engineer will also maintain and improve factory production test methods and systems, ensuring quality and efficiency in production.

Responsibilities

  • Design appropriate test systems for production level testing based on product design and specifications from design engineering.
  • Lead the implementation, validation, and troubleshooting of factory firmware update and provisioning tools.
  • Coordinate between factory test engineers, design engineers, contract manufacturers, and quality teams to determine root cause and corrective action for failed PCBAs and finished goods.
  • Supervise contract manufacturers and suppliers to create test strategy and implementation of manufacturing tests.
  • Design, implement, and sustain data output from production tests to aid in quality control and SPC detections (Yields, failure codes, parametric, etc.).
  • Coordinate and/or build test systems including test fixtures, programming stations, cables, and software.
  • Lead the production implementation, validation, and troubleshooting of test, FW/SW programming, and provisioning systems, driving activities to closure with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Project Management, Process Engineering, Quality).
  • Identify, plan, and implement improvement projects focused on production test processes that influence customer satisfaction, waste elimination, growth, cost-effectiveness, and product/system quality. Create and maintain standardized test systems and process documentation in accordance with corporate production test requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics, HW/SW or related field plus 3 - 5 years of hands-on experience.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting PCB schematics and layout designs, with the ability to identify and troubleshoot circuit functionality and design issues.
  • Understanding of embedded systems, microcontrollers, sensors, and firmware development flow.
  • Familiarity with embedded C programming and scripting languages.
  • Experience with production test fixtures, firmware flashing, serialization, and traceability.
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills along with the ability to work in a large team environment.
