About The Position

The Engineer I - Ground Software Developer position at BAE Systems involves working within the Engineering, Science and Analysis (ESA) Strategic Capability Unit to develop satellite ground system software. The role focuses on delivering innovative capabilities in a fast-paced Agile environment, contributing to the full software life cycle, and maintaining effective working relationships within the team and across the organization.

Requirements

• BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required.
• A current, active TS/SCI security clearance is required.
• Experience with satellite ground system development focusing on distributed C2, data processing, or mission planning software.
• Experience with industry-standard ground systems such as COSMOS, ECLIPSE, OS/COMET, or OASIS.
• Experience delivering high-reliability software in an agile, team-based environment with a solid CI/CD workflow.
• Experience in cloud development using AWS, Lambda, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Experience in web and REST service development using Spring, Jersey, Flask, CherryPy, or Ruby on Rails.
• Experience in front-end and UX development using JavaScript, Angular, React, JavaFX, Python, or Qt.
• Experience in back-end development using SQL and NoSQL databases, and JPA/ORM.
• Experience in modeling, planning, or scheduling software development in languages such as Java, C++, or Python.

Responsibilities

• Develop satellite command and control, mission planning, and data analysis software systems.
• Perform full software life cycle functions including software requirements, architecture, design, code, test, integration, documentation, and support.
• Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department and the company.
• Interact appropriately with others to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
• Perform other duties as necessary.
