About the position

The Engineer I position in the Legacy Mechanical/Chemical/Welding Engineering Program at Palo Verde is designed for recent graduates to undergo a comprehensive 9-month orientation training program. This program combines on-the-job training, rotations through various departments, technical classroom training, and briefings from subject matter experts. Upon completion, engineers will be assigned to specific work groups within the Palo Verde organization, contributing to the development of clean and reliable energy for Arizona.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the analysis and preparation of data, technical reviews, evaluations, and trend analyses to aid decision making.
  • Prepares engineering plans, designs, specifications, cost estimates, and documentation including drawings and work orders.
  • Interfaces with customers and departments to ensure project objectives are met and work scope aligns with requirements.
  • Provides technical and field support, troubleshooting issues and initiating corrective action plans.
  • Participates in the preparation of business cases and operational plans for project implementation.
  • Contacts customers and management to present technical data and project results.
  • Maintains awareness of current technology and engineering developments to enhance technical capabilities.

Requirements

  • A four-year Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline or related applied science from an ABET accredited institution.
  • Knowledge and ability to apply basic engineering principles, practices, and theories.
  • Experience with problem analysis and resolution techniques.

Nice-to-haves

  • BS or above in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Welding Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
