About the position

The position involves responding to guest repair requests and performing maintenance tasks with minimal supervision. The role requires proficiency in various maintenance categories, including electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems, while ensuring safety and quality standards are met. The technician will also communicate effectively with guests and team members, maintain equipment, and assist in training junior engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to and attend to guest repair requests.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
  • Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines.
  • Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and buildings.
  • Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
  • Communicate daily activities and problems to other shifts using approved communication programs.
  • Display proficiency in air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and other maintenance categories.
  • Use hand and power tools safely and effectively for repair and maintenance tasks.
  • Troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on various equipment and plumbing systems.
  • Assist with surface preparation, painting, and minor repairs.
  • Use the Lockout/Tagout system before performing maintenance work.
  • Perform mid-level troubleshooting of hotel Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems.
  • Train and mentor other engineers as needed.
  • Follow all company and safety policies and procedures, reporting any issues promptly.
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance and protect company assets.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent with vocational or technical background.
  • At least 2 years of hotel engineering/maintenance experience.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification.
  • Must meet applicable state and federal certification and/or licensing requirements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in general maintenance and surface preparation.
  • Supervisory experience is not required but is a plus.
