About the position

Venture Global LNG is seeking a Mechanical Engineer specializing in Rotating Equipment to join our team at the Calcasieu Pass 2 LNG (CP2) facility located in Cameron, Louisiana. This position is critical in supporting our operations and ensuring the reliability of our rotating equipment systems. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of various drivers such as gas and steam turbines, motors, and driven equipment including generators, compressors, and pumps. Familiarity with supporting components and systems such as couplings, bearings, lubrication, and sealing systems (including dry gas seals and mechanical seals) is essential. In this role, the Mechanical Engineer will provide intermediate-level Reliability Engineering support to the Operations team, focusing on key areas such as Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM). The engineer will lead RCFA exercises to address failures related to plant equipment and processes, utilizing relevant techniques to ensure thorough analysis and resolution. Additionally, the engineer will drive improvements in existing maintenance practices to develop a cost-effective and safe maintenance strategy. The position requires daily support for Rotating Equipment and Mechanical systems, ensuring the operability of plant equipment. The engineer will also be responsible for providing technical authority on site rotating equipment, including MOC/HAZOP signoff and contributing to weekly site engineering reports. This role is vital for maintaining the operational integrity of our LNG facility and supporting the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advice and guidance on Rotating Equipment system engineering issues.
  • Support daily Rotating Equipment and Mechanical systems for Maintenance & Operations teams to ensure continued operability of plant equipment.
  • Sign off on MOC/HAZOP for rotating equipment.
  • Act as the site rotating equipment technical authority for VG engineering sign off on rotating equipment inspection and readiness.
  • Provide input to the weekly site engineering report.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other relevant technical discipline is required, with a preference for Mechanical Engineering focus.
  • A Professional Engineering License is preferred.
  • A minimum of five (5) years' experience working in an engineering capacity with Rotating and Mechanical equipment in an industrial setting.
  • Oil and Gas experience is required, with a preference for LNG applications; experience in petrochemical, NGL, cryogenic natural gas processing, or other hydrocarbon processing may be acceptable.
  • Extensive knowledge of gas turbines (Frames & Aero-derivatives) and compressors, including compressor performance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of CMMS Systems.
  • Experience with RCFA tools for conducting failure analysis.
