About The Position

Walter P. Moore and Associates, Inc. is seeking an Engineer in Houston, Texas, to analyze and validate structures during various construction phases, develop construction sequencing, and design temporary structures. The role involves coordinating with contractors and fabricators, performing construction administration services, and mentoring junior engineers and interns.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 3 years of experience in a related occupation.
• Experience in steel design, steel connection design, light gauge steel design, concrete rebar bracing design, and structural analysis.
• Proficiency in Tekla Structures modeling.
• Experience with Revit modeling and detailing.
• Familiarity with Mathcad and CFS Designer.
• Experience with SAP 2000 modeling.
• Knowledge of applicable codes and industry standards (AISC 360-16, ACI 318-14, IBC 2018, ASCE 7-16).
• Ability to generate project schedules and maintain logs and files for project submittals.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and validate structures at different stages of construction.
• Develop construction sequencing for complex structures.
• Design and analyze temporary structures to support construction.
• Design and analyze steel connections for various project types.
• Coordinate with general contractors, steel fabricators, and erectors regarding project details.
• Perform construction administration services on assigned projects.
• Support project managers in managing teams and executing project plans.
• Mentor Graduate Engineers and Engineering Interns, providing hands-on experience and feedback.
