About the position

The Engineering Lead Electronics Technician at Collins Aerospace is responsible for supporting engineering teams in the design, development, and testing of complex electronic systems. This role involves troubleshooting, debugging, and maintaining electronic assemblies, as well as ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The position requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support Engineering teams with prototype build, testing, and troubleshooting/debugging of electronic assemblies.
  • Build various Test Fixtures and Cable Assemblies.
  • Review and revise test and engineering documentation.
  • Maintain and inventory repair and engineering parts stock.
  • Support production test stations.
  • Apply advanced electronic theory, testing, and knowledge to solve problems.
  • Adapt to new procedures, techniques, and tools quickly; share knowledge to promote a good learning environment.
  • Interface well with key customers on complex systems or processes; improve upon existing processes and practices.
  • Solve complex problems using sound technical proficiencies and innovative solutions.
  • Work under minimal supervision as needed and lead by example utilizing 'soft' people skills.

Requirements

  • Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 8 years relevant experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Security Clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a Security Clearance.
  • Familiarity with test equipment and systems test principles is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certified Electronics Technician Associate test from Electronics Technicians Association - International.
  • Experience with testing and troubleshooting/debugging of electronic assemblies and 'bring alive' of new circuit card assemblies.
