About the position

At DoorDash, we're revolutionizing the way people experience food delivery. DashPass subscriptions are at the forefront of this mission, offering unbeatable benefits and affordability to our users. In this role, you will lead a team to own the subscription lifecycle for DashPass, including the systems and user experience around activating subscriptions, managing membership billing, and preventing churn. You’ll also own the underlying subscription platform to enable Dashpass benefits for multiple product teams at DoorDash. At DashPass, our teams work at the intersection of product and infrastructure to solve key business problems with elegant technical solutions. You will be driving the technical vision and execution of the team while also leading the evolution of DashPass to be a world-class membership program. You will lead a team to build engineering systems that are reliable, highly available, and easily extensible. You will be asked to consider the big picture – collaborating cross-functionally and evaluating and executing on trade-offs to maximize business impact for the company.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a talented full stack team of engineers to own Dashpass subscriptions
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to define the roadmap and vision for the team and deliver immense impact
  • Build an outstanding team by coaching engineers, empowering engineers through delegation, and applying your technical expertise to hold your team to the highest engineering standards
  • Scale the team by recruiting, retaining, and developing highly talented engineers across different disciplines
  • Inspire the team with your technical vision and create the alignment necessary to execute on it
  • Provide technical guidance and roll up your sleeves with hands-on contributions when necessary
  • Scale the team by developing internal talents and attracting top talents

Requirements

  • B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 7+ years of industry experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of management experience
  • Strong hands-on experience with working with non-technical stakeholders, cross-team collaboration, and building scalable products in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to handle ambiguity and work with product and business partners to collect non-technical requirements to design and build scalable experience solutions
  • Ability to guide and grow an excellent engineering team in a rapidly changing business environment
