Engineering Manager

About the position

The Engineering Manager will lead product test and validation, engineering tools & systems, and sustaining efforts. This role supports BOM & Configuration management, product validation, and maintenance updates for Supply Chain, Production, and Sales. It requires an engineering background with expertise in product documentation, testing, change management, team building, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of engineers, technicians, and specialists
• Align department goals with company objectives to ensure product quality and timely delivery
• Enhance testing methodologies and change management processes to improve time-to-market
• Oversee test plans and procedures to validate product performance and compliance
• Ensure rigorous testing of prototypes and finished products under real-world conditions
• Collaborate with production to improve product design for quality and productivity
• Coordinate technical developments and resolve engineering design and test issues
• Review and approve production drawings/specifications, recommending design enhancements
• Manage documentation for production and customer support (proposals, quotes, drawings, BOM, schematics, manuals, etc.)
• Work with suppliers and consultants to resolve technical issues and improve system features
• Oversee project management processes to keep projects on schedule and budget
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar required
• 5+ years of management experience preferred
• 10+ years of related experience preferred
• Proficient in MS Outlook and verbal communication
• Customer service-oriented and active team participant
• Experience in sizing and designing refrigeration components using simulation tools
• Knowledge of codes and standards (ASME, UL, ETL, CRN, NFPA, AWS) for system compliance
• Familiarity with specs and standards in commercial refrigeration
• Mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with industrial equipment
• Strong mathematical, communication, and electro-mechanical skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; advanced Excel skills are a plus
• Experience with SolidWorks is a plus
