About The Position

The City Engineer is responsible for reviewing site review plans and conducting field inspections of new construction to ensure proper erosion control installations. This role involves leading the collection of in-stream sampling and quarterly water quality sampling, as well as operating and maintaining the water sample vehicle. The City Engineer will also mark existing storm inventory where none is present and report completed inspections to the MS4 Director. Additionally, the engineer will report inspection violations to the MS4 Compliance Coordinator and perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of erosion control installation requirements
  • Knowledge of water quality field testing procedures
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in municipal or government organization
  • Experience in field data collection is a plus
  • Effective communication skills to interact with construction site owners
  • Communication skills to convey erosion control issues to permittees and municipal managers
  • Valid Driver's License
